About Our Company

Two Generations Building Forward

Hostetter and Son Construction, Inc.
is a Commercial General Contractor headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. We are a new company with deep foundations. Co-founder and President James (Butch) Hostetter has been in the construction industry since 1988. Co-founder Frank Hostetter has worked in the construction industry since 2002. They founded Hostetter and Son in April 2016. The companies collective work experience embodies many fields: from healthcare to religious, offices to industrial.

Rowan Regional Medical Center Pharmacy

Installed a new AHU on the roof and rerouted the new mechanical ductwork from the 4th floor rooftop unit to the ground floor Pharmacy department. The existing Chemo lab located in the pharmacy area was completely renovated. Existing areas where new duct chases were installed were renovated with new finishes. The Pharmacy remained open during the renovation process.

Renovations for Sonic Automotive

Our team upgraded several car dealerships including sales areas, offices, service, and shop areas. We also constructed several in-house photo booths allowing the dealerships the ability to take professional grade photos of all vehicles for display on their websites.

Rawlinson Road Middle School Renovation

Project consists of a major renovation to designated areas of the existing building. The project was performed in three phases. Phase I work, performed in the summer of 2017 included the cafeteria, media room, administration, and nursing area and several bathrooms. Phase II work was performed during the 2017 school holidays and included renovating several bathrooms. Phase III will start at the beginning of the 2018 summer break and will include renovations to the girls and boys locker rooms and the band room. The project will wrap up in August 2018 prior to the start of the new school year.

About the Team

Butch Hostetter

President/Co-Founder

Butch graduated from the Virginia Military Institute with as BS in Civil Engineering and has spent his entire 35 year professional career in the construction industry, including engineering design, government management and general construction. He moved to Charlotte in 1989 and has been involved with the YMCA (local board), the Church and his Community. He enjoys golfing, bike riding, and travelling.
Butch stays on top of the constant changing new design and technical approaches in his field. He is keen on constructability and value engineering issues. He will be involved in the preconstruction, budgeting, scheduling and construction phases of a project. He will ensure that the project is delivered on time and within the project’s cost constraints. He is well versed in a multitude of project types including new construction, renovations, power upgrades and structural improvements. Butch has managed projects up to $45 Million.

Frank Hostetter

Vice President/Co-Founder

Frank graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelors Degree in Biology in 2006. Frank and his wife live in Charlotte where they are active in local community outings. They enjoy running, biking, travelling, cooking and remodeling their 100 year old home. Frank’s construction career started when he worked in the field during his summers off in college. After graduating from UVA, he began working in the office as an Assistant Project Manager. He quickly learned the trade and advanced to Project Manager. He is now a LEED Accredited Professional, a Partner, and Executive Vice President of Hostetter & Son Construction, Inc. Frank will provide complete project management services throughout the life of the project. He will be responsible for estimating, contract procurement, scheduling, safety, value engineering, invoicing and closeout. He is knowledgeable in BIM services.
